Looking for some comfort food to warm the soul? This creamy chicken and biscuits recipe is perfect for a busy weeknight; cheap and easy for mom to make and sure to delight little eaters!


If there’s one thing about me you should know, it’s that I like to find the easiest way out in all situations, especially when it comes to cooking! Our family runs on meals that involve stove-top side dishes and mac-n-cheese. If you’re sitting there thinking about how we have so much in common, there’s no judgment from me! A mom’s life is a busy life.

I found this mouth-watering dish from Allrecipes; I tend to get the majority of my recipes from their website, as they have a wide variety to choose from. There are many variations of this dish, but I have tweaked it a bit to our family’s taste. It’s very simple to change up for your family, too.

There are only two big changes I made: omitting onions and pimientos that the original recipe called for and using canned chicken. If you’re thinking ew about the canned chicken, then just use two cups of cooked chicken.

Creamy Chicken & Biscuits

This recipe is comfort in a dish! With chicken in a creamy sauce, surrounded by fluffy biscuits, your family will love every bite. What's even better? It's quick and easy for a weeknight dinner!

Total Time 45 minutes


  • 4 cups chopped cooked chicken I use canned
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded mild cheese divided
  • 1 pkg refrigerated biscuits I recommend Pillsbury


  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. 

  2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, soup, sour cream, and milk.

  3. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 baking dish.

  4. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of cheese over mixture and arrange biscuits on the top. 

  5. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup of cheese over the biscuits. 

  6. Place back into the oven and bake for another 20 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbling and the biscuits are nicely browned.
